In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled, February 1972 by Carlo Zinelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,187.18), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Zinelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, 1957, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,652.87).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen

Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, February 1972 von Carlo Zinelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.187,18) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlo Zinelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, 1957 beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 43.652,87) versteigert wurde.
