Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Italianate landscape with travellers on a country path; and An Italianate landscape with a drover and his herd (2) by Carlo Labruzzi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,800.00 (€ 14,745.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Labruzzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Temple of Minerva, Rome; and The Tomb of Cecilia Metella on the via Appia, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 46,850.00 (€ 55,985.68).
