Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work View Of A Harbor At Dawn, With Fishermen Along The Port In The Foreground by Carlo Bonavia. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 106,250.00 (€ 93,111.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Bonavia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 119,250.00 (€ 194,909.42).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 93.111,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
