Sold at the lower estimate price
In June 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work A Storm Off A Rocky Coast by Carlo Bonavia. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,580.84) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Bonavia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 119,250.00 (€ 194,909.42).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Storm Off A Rocky Coast von Carlo Bonavia zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.580,84) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlo Bonavia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 119.250,00 (€ 194.909,42) versteigert wurde.
