Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online, which included the work A volcano erupting at night, possibly Mount Etna by Carlo Bonavia. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 36,111.93). Admittedly, works by Carlo Bonavia have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 119,250.00 (€ 194,909.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A volcano erupting at night, possibly Mount Etna von Carlo Bonavia zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 36.111,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Bonavia auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 119.250,00 (€ 194.909,42).
