Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work FIRE IN THE ISLAND by Carlo Bonavia was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 189,000.00. Other works by Carlo Bonavia have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2000 by the work An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond at GBP 119,250.00 (€ 194,909.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit FIRE IN THE ISLAND von Carlo Bonavia im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 189.000,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Carlo Bonavia wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2000 die Arbeit An extensive Italianate river landscape with travellers and soldiers in the foreground, a Roman aqueduct beyond mit GBP 119.250,00 (€ 194.909,42).
