A top price for Carlo Alberto Baratta - as previously expected
The work Study for the Presentation of the Virgin by Carlo Alberto Baratta was sold in the From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,459.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Study for the Presentation of the Virgin is the most expensive artwork by Carlo Alberto Baratta that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Study for the Presentation of the Virgin von Carlo Alberto Baratta wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert.
