Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Recto: The Death of Hector Verso: Two Battling Figures with Shields and Swords by Carlo Alberto Baratta was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,450.00 (€ 7,787.39). Other works by Carlo Alberto Baratta have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2021 by the work Study for the Presentation of the Virgin at USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,459.83).

Als die Arbeit Recto: The Death of Hector Verso: Two Battling Figures with Shields and Swords von Carlo Alberto Baratta im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
