Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Georgia O'Keeffe; and Philip Johnson by Carl van Vechten. The price achieved of USD 2,585.00 (€ 2,844.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl van Vechten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man Ray, 1934, which sold at auction in November 2012 for EUR 6,250.00.
