Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Carl Paul Jennewein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. In the American Art auction, the work Over The Waves sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,492.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Paul Jennewein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Cupid and Crane', which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 79,000.00 (€ 53,785.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Paul Jennewein erzielte im März 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Over The Waves für USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.492,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Paul Jennewein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Cupid and Crane' beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 79.000,00 (€ 53.785,40) versteigert wurde.
