In October 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation, which included the work Lion And Buffalo by Carl Ethan Akeley. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,543.33), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carl Ethan Akeley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American The Wounded Comrade in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 115,000.00 (€ 78,295.21).

Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lion And Buffalo von Carl Ethan Akeley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.543,33) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Ethan Akeley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American The Wounded Comrade im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 115.000,00 (€ 78.295,21).
