Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Stung' by Carl Ethan Akeley. The price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carl Ethan Akeley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American The Wounded Comrade in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 115,000.00 (€ 78,295.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Stung' von Carl Ethan Akeley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.315,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Ethan Akeley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American The Wounded Comrade im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 115.000,00 (€ 78.295,21).
