The price achieved of USD 31,562.50 (€ 26,099.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Ethan Akeley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work American The Wounded Comrade, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 115,000.00 (€ 78,295.21).
