Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Wounded Comrade by Carl Ethan Akeley was sold in the Western Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. The price achieved of USD 25,500.00 (€ 24,200.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Ethan Akeley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work American The Wounded Comrade, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 115,000.00 (€ 78,295.21).
