Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Post and Lintel (Element Series) by Carl Andre was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 340,575.00 (€ 317,374.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carl Andre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Copper-Steel Alloy Square in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,411,250.00 (€ 2,796,877.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Post and Lintel (Element Series) von Carl Andre wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 340.575,00 (€ 317.374,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Andre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Copper-Steel Alloy Square im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.411.250,00 (€ 2.796.877,07).
