Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Teatro Juárez Guanajuato III, 2015 by Candida Höfer. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,936.60). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Candida Höfer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Biblioteca Geral da Universidade de Coimbra IV, which sold at auction in February 2015 for GBP 80,500.00 (€ 110,997.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Teatro Juárez Guanajuato III, 2015 von Candida Höfer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.936,60) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Candida Höfer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Biblioteca Geral da Universidade de Coimbra IV beobachtet, die im Februar 2015 für GBP 80.500,00 (€ 110.997,54) versteigert wurde.
