Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage au saule by Camille Roqueplan was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camille Roqueplan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Lady with Pink Sash in January last year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,332.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage au saule von Camille Roqueplan im Dezember 2009 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Camille Roqueplan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady with Pink Sash im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.332,86).
