Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Return of Don Quixote After His Second Escapade by Camille Roqueplan was sold in the British Art on Paper auction at Christies in London in November 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,820.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Camille Roqueplan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Lady with Pink Sash in January last year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,332.86).

Die Arbeit The Return of Don Quixote After His Second Escapade von Camille Roqueplan wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion British Art on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.820,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Camille Roqueplan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady with Pink Sash im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.332,86).
