Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS, which included the work Lupton's Range, Eton College by Calvert Richard Jones. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,405.00 (€ 8,463.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Calvert Richard Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boats, Naples, 1846, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,802.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS, MAGIC LANTERNS AND OPTICAL TOYS AND CAMERAS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lupton's Range, Eton College von Calvert Richard Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.405,00 (€ 8.463,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Calvert Richard Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Boats, Naples, 1846 beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.802,07) versteigert wurde.
