Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work A Three-Master Drying Her Sails At Anchor by Calvert Richard Jones for GBP 144.00 (€ 213.42). This price was achieved in the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Calvert Richard Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boats, Naples, 1846 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,802.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Three-Master Drying Her Sails At Anchor von Calvert Richard Jones für GBP 144,00 (€ 213,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Calvert Richard Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boats, Naples, 1846 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.802,07).
