Sold at the lower estimate price

In February 2005 Christies in London held the auction THE SIR RALPH AND LADY HALPERN COLLECTION, which included the work The 'Mary Ray'; and 'Hurricane' by Calvert Richard Jones. The result of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,740.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Calvert Richard Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boats, Naples, 1846 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,802.07).
