In December 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work P 97.29 by Caio Fonseca. The auction ended at the price of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,562.84), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caio Fonseca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tenth Street #80 in March 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,085.25).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit P 97.29 von Caio Fonseca zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.562,84) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caio Fonseca erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tenth Street #80 im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.085,25).
