Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cai Guo-Qiang could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Sketch for the Expansion of the Great Wall by 10,000 Meters changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 662.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cai Guo-Qiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Project For Extraterrestrials No.10, Project To Extend The Great Wall Of China in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 20,487,500.00 (€ 1,826,712.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cai Guo-Qiang konnte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Sketch for the Expansion of the Great Wall by 10,000 Meters für USD 750,00 (€ 662,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00.
