Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountainous Landscape by C. C. Wang was sold in the Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 13,860.00 (€ 14,167.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by C. C. Wang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lantern Festival, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 38,239.07).

Die Arbeit Mountainous Landscape von C. C. Wang wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 14.167,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von C. C. Wang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lantern Festival beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 38.239,07) versteigert wurde.
