In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection, which included the work Mountain Village by C. C. Wang. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by C. C. Wang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lantern Festival, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 38,239.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Thoughts Across the Waters: Asian Art from the David Drabkin Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mountain Village von C. C. Wang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von C. C. Wang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lantern Festival beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 38.239,07) versteigert wurde.
