A top price for C. C. Wang
This artwork by C. C. Wang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Lantern Festival sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 38,239.07) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. This high result makes Lantern Festival the most expensive artwork by C. C. Wang that we have observed at auctions so far.
