Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Phillips in London held the auction Music, which included the work Sammy Davis Jr. by Burt Glinn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,367.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Burt Glinn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maria Callas, La Scala, Italie, 1955 in September 2017 with an auction result of EUR 11,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Music durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sammy Davis Jr. von Burt Glinn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.367,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Burt Glinn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maria Callas, La Scala, Italie, 1955 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.250,00.
