Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Non-Figurative Study) by Burgoyne Diller was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,394.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Burgoyne Diller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Number 47, First Theme in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 185,993.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Non-Figurative Study) von Burgoyne Diller im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.394,87) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Burgoyne Diller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Number 47, First Theme im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 185.993,11).
