Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work The value of pigeon-post as accessory to wireless in war: Testing a private fancier's carrier-pigeons by Bryan de Grineau for GBP 687.50 (€ 877.84). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bryan de Grineau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work I Spy Strangers: Churchill in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,692.78).
