Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Puig Regatta, Barcelona, 2014 by Brian J. Jones for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.75). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Brian J. Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storming the Cowes Roads, 1930: Astra leading with Westward, Candida, Britannia and Lulworth behind in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,543.06).
