Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'The Carlisle Castle' by Brian J. Jones was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,057.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brian J. Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storming the Cowes Roads, 1930: Astra leading with Westward, Candida, Britannia and Lulworth behind in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,543.06).
