In the The Marine Sale auction, the work 'Westward Storming down the Solent, 1930' sold for GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,404.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian J. Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storming the Cowes Roads, 1930: Astra leading with Westward, Candida, Britannia and Lulworth behind, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,543.06).
