This artwork by Brian Duffy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in October this year. In the POP X Culture auction, the work David Bowie 'Aladdin Sane (Eyes Shut)', 1973, printed 2009 sold for GBP 15,360.00 (€ 17,637.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Duffy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work David Bowie, "Aladdin Sane" (Eyes Open), which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 47,812.50 (€ 41,388.94).
