Auction result misses estimated price range
In August last year a collector was able to acquire the work David Bowie: "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)," Long Shadow by Brian Duffy for USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,433.68). This price was achieved in the auction PhotographsSummer Cut at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Brian Duffy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work David Bowie, "Aladdin Sane" (Eyes Open) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 47,812.50 (€ 41,388.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit David Bowie: "Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)," Long Shadow von Brian Duffy für USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.433,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PhotographsSummer Cut bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Brian Duffy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit David Bowie, "Aladdin Sane" (Eyes Open) im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.812,50 (€ 41.388,94).
