Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mother and Child, 1977 by Brett Whiteley was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November 2021. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 6,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 7,380.00 (€ 6,538.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brett Whiteley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Opera House in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 2,880,000.00 (€ 1,770,858.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 6.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 7.380,00 (€ 6.538,50) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brett Whiteley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Opera House im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 2.880.000,00 (€ 1.770.858,54).
