Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work (Erotic Encounter), c.1978 by Brett Whiteley was auctioned at Bonhams in Sidney in August last year. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 21,525.00 (€ 14,683.62). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brett Whiteley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Opera House in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 2,880,000.00 (€ 1,770,858.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit (Erotic Encounter), c.1978 von Brett Whiteley kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 21.525,00 (€ 14.683,62) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brett Whiteley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Opera House im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 2.880.000,00 (€ 1.770.858,54).
