Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Elegant lady with black hat by Boleslav von Szankowsky was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,250.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Boleslav von Szankowsky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spanish beauty in red, which sold at auction in December 2003 for EUR 4,182.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Elegant lady with black hat von Boleslav von Szankowsky im Dezember 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.250,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Boleslav von Szankowsky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spanish beauty in red beobachtet, die im Dezember 2003 für EUR 4.182,50 versteigert wurde.
