Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Bob Thompson was sold in the First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in December 2021. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,387.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bob Thompson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meeting Man in May this year with an auction result of USD 327,600.00 (€ 307,490.14).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Bob Thompson wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion First Open Online: Post War & Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.387,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bob Thompson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meeting Man im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 327.600,00 (€ 307.490,14).
