Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Elephants in the African Veldt by Bob Kuhn was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,062.50 (€ 36,436.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bob Kuhn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fire Storm in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 657,000.00 (€ 447,303.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Elephants in the African Veldt von Bob Kuhn kam im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.062,50 (€ 36.436,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bob Kuhn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fire Storm im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 657.000,00 (€ 447.303,92).
