In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection, which included the work A Gathering of Elders by Bob Kuhn. The auction ended at the price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 128,788.53), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bob Kuhn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fire Storm, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 657,000.00 (€ 447,303.92).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Gathering of Elders von Bob Kuhn zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 128.788,53) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bob Kuhn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fire Storm beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 657.000,00 (€ 447.303,92) versteigert wurde.
