Auction result well in line with expectations
The work American Recumbent African Lion by Bob Kuhn was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,388.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bob Kuhn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fire Storm in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 657,000.00 (€ 447,303.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit American Recumbent African Lion von Bob Kuhn kam im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.388,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bob Kuhn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fire Storm im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 657.000,00 (€ 447.303,92).
