Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work self-portrait in astrachan hat by Billy Childish was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,575.00 (€ 19,309.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Billy Childish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit self-portrait in astrachan hat von Billy Childish kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.575,00 (€ 19.309,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Billy Childish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
