Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Billy Childish achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Self Portrait sold for GBP 10,880.00 (€ 12,493.26) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Billy Childish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Billy Childish erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Self Portrait für GBP 10.880,00 (€ 12.493,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Billy Childish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
