Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black Dog, 1939-1942 by Bill Traylor was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,115.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bill Traylor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black Dog, 1939-1942 von Bill Traylor wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.115,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Traylor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
