Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black Pig by Bill Traylor was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. The price achieved of USD 42,840.00 (€ 39,454.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Traylor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black Pig von Bill Traylor wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 42.840,00 (€ 39.454,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Traylor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
