Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bill Traylor could be acquired at Christies in January this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Young Bull changed hands for USD 27,720.00 (€ 25,529.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Traylor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bill Traylor konnte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art wechselte die Arbeit Young Bull für USD 27.720,00 (€ 25.529,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Traylor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
