Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait Striding by Bill Traylor was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,720.00 (€ 25,529.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Traylor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait Striding von Bill Traylor wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 25.529,56) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Traylor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
