Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Man with Pipe by Bill Traylor. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 48,738.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bill Traylor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 507,000.00 (€ 457,044.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man with Pipe von Bill Traylor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 48.738,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Traylor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man on White, Woman on Red / Man with Black Dog, double sided, 1939-1942 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 507.000,00 (€ 457.044,98).
