Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Man with a Straw Hat, No. IV by Bill Jacklin was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 559.94). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Jacklin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Black Umbrella, Times Square III in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 38,863.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Man with a Straw Hat, No. IV von Bill Jacklin im April 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 625,00 (€ 559,94) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Jacklin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Black Umbrella, Times Square III im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 38.863,46).
