Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Marilyn Monroe: The Last Sitting, A Portfolio of Ten Photographs by Bert Stern. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,360.00 (€ 14,534.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bert Stern have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe: The Last Sitting, A Portfolio of Ten Photographs von Bert Stern zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.360,00 (€ 14.534,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bert Stern auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 146.500,00 (€ 105.251,81).
